Nuclear Structure Using Isomer Decay at FRIB

Long-lived excited states, or isomers, provide a unique laboratory to investigate the structure of the nucleus. The weak transition strengths associated can insight into the nuclear shapes, electromagnetic strengths, and shell closures far from stability. Recent results from the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) and the FRIB Decay Station initiator (FDSi) will be presented. These include several micro-second and nano-second isomers that span regions from the N=20 to N=40 islands of inversion, including the neutron-rich Ca region approaching 60Ca.
